Pop/CHR might have been a good choice for the new 103.5, if only because Doubleday Broadcasting was doing that format at KDWB in Minneapolis.

"Hot Hits" had no staying power. B96 in Chicago eventually transitioned to Rhythmic CHR; WCAU-FM in Philadelphia became "Oldies 98" WOGL in 1987. And it was Malrite Communications that launched Z100.
