You are right. In fact yes WPIX had quite a few cartoons in the 60's that wound up on Channel 5 in the 70's. But by the early 70's Channel 5 overtook WPIX. WPIX never had the Warner Brothers Looney Toons or Merrie Melodies Cartoons though. By the 70's Channel 5 had all that. I do recall in 1974 WPIX backed away from cartoons, still had some but less than in the past or future but by 76 they were back in the kids business aggressively. WOR TV gave up on kids by 1972 if not before (do not count ROmper Room being that was more of an educational pre-school program).
