I think you're confusing something here. I never heard of such an incident on WABC. Ever. I don't believe Dan would have played a song "over and over and over again for I forgot how long...but it was a lot!!".

Rick Sklar would never, ever have stood for that. Especially this song which was full of all kinds of content that Sklar would have been concerned about. One of his prime directives was to project a positive image of WABC for corporate, for advertising and for license reasons. Remember, this is 1966 where content was a lot more restrictive. Sklar fired Bob Dayton in 1965 for the Hiroshima comment for these reasons.

It also doesn't fit with Dan. He might have "laugh(ed) menacingly over each intro" one time. He probably did. ONE time.
